GeoSurvey - GeoCadastre - Installation Guide

Create a directory to hold the program and the template files. It doesn't really matter where this directory is, it can be under 'C:\Program Files\Mimaka\'
Extract the contents of the ZIP file to this folder
Double click on the distribution file GeoSurvey-7.xx.zip or GeoCadastre-5.xx.zip to open the file in WinZip*, or click on the zip file using Windows Explorer and copy the contents to c:\gc
Create a shortcut on the desktop to the program. Right click on the desktop, select New/Shortcut, then browse to C:\Program Files\Mimaka\GeoSurvey.exe or C:\Program Files\Mimaka\GeoCadastre.exe
Double click on the desktop icon to start the program.

Now either install a hardware dongle or a Software Key.

USB DONGLE

Important: Install the USB software driver before plugging it into the PC.
Follow the instructions on the downloads Web page

Download USB Dongle Driver 2010-07-12.zip. Use this driver for Windows 7, Windows XP and for 64 bit Windows.
Verify that the USB dongle is not plugged in, if it is plugged in - unplug it.
Run Install.exe from the driver download file
Tick the USB Dongle tick box. (it will display a warning, press OK)
Installation type should be - Standalone
Press Begin Install button. (it will think for a while and display 'Install Success!...')
Insert Dongle into USB port
{Pre-Vista systems) Let the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' run. Check the 'Yes, this time only' radio button. Check 'Install the software automatically (recommended)' radio button
If any problems occur, view the log file [c:\kl2log.htm] for details.

It is not necessary to run an 'uninstall' before reinstalling if you insert the dongle before installing the driver.

GeoSurvey - GeoCadastre - USB Dongle Configuration

Attach the dongle to USB port on the PC.
In GeoSurvey - GeoCadastre select File/License
Select 'Hardware Dongle' radio button.
Change the Dongle Port to 'USB'
Press 'Test Dongle' and it will display the registered company name, the software licensed and the dongle number.
If the dongle cannot be detected, check that it is connected correctly and try again. If it still cannot detect the dongle, try the program and dongle on a different PC, and/or call Mimaka on 0419.269.322

Getting Started with GeoSurvey - GeoCadastre

Select File/New, enter a dummy job name, enter your user name, and company name.
These will be the defaults for future jobs.

You can now create and work on survey jobs in and directory on the PC.
It is suggested that you place working jobs in c:\data if you have no other preference.

Additional Files:
There are several csv files containing parameters for projections for Australian mapping grids.
